
So the painters are sent up around 9:30am and are brought down around 3pm. In this amount of time they can scrape and prime about 1/3 of one section of tower, or prime a whole section, or finish-paint a whole section.
In the meantime, Ivan and I cut brush. We’re working on the brush that’s growing along the road, because the guy in the guard shack can’t see vehicles coming very well.
We wear long pants and old long-sleeved shirts. It's in the 80's and humid, but with the consistent 20mph winds, it's just barely bearable.
The locals have a saying: "poco-poco". It means, "a little at a time", so that you don't overheat. Work slowly but consistently. It's the 'tortise vs. the hare' philosophy.
