Antenna painting progress

If you look carefully, you'll notice that the antenna on the left, antenna #4, is almost all red. The second section from the bottom has been painted with primer, which is sort of a mauve-ish red, and looks almost exactly like the red of the other sections. The painters are working on the second section from the top, which is also white, but they are scraping the rust off of it and covering it with a coat of this reddish primer, so that white section is almost all red, too.

It takes about a week to scrape and paint one section. The first day they'll scrape and primer about 1/3 of one section. They start at the top and scrape all morning (Ivan and I can hear the tap-tap-tapping as we cut brush anywhere in the field below), then they climb back up the part that they just scraped, and cover it with primer in the afternoon. The next 2 days they'll scrape and primer the rest of that section. The 4th day they put on a second coat of primer over the whole section, and the 5th day they apply the finish coat.

That is, if the weather cooperates. The weather was a little 'iffy' last week, with some rain showers, so the guys worked on the second-from-the-bottom section for a while, to be close to the ground in case of a storm. That section has to be final-coated yet.
