Part of me likes the idea of an outdoor church. But here, you'd have to glob on the sunscreen before going. Or have only very early services. You get sunburned in about a half an hour here.
Offhand, I'd say that this is a chapel. It is also a traditional chapel, or has not been updated. The altar is set so that the priest must consecrate the sacrament with his back to the congregation. Just an observation from a traditional and orthodox Episcopalian. This is important to some because the priest is positioned with the celebrants before God even though he has his back to them.
