This is a photo of a photo hanging on the wall in the transmitter station, showing what it looked like in the '60's.
This is one of two diesel engines that used to power the transmitter station, and for a time also provided power for the entire island of Bonaire. They're big V-16 with pistons about a foot in diameter. One is labeled "Ma" and the other one "Pa."
That's exactly how the TWR transmitter hall looked when I first arrived on Bonaire in 1975. Except that they must have painted it sometime, 'cause it was in color by then. ha-ha
