Not much new to report. It was threatening to rain, so the painters didn't go up the tower. We sat in the break room with their foreman, and I listened to a long discussion in Papiamentu. I could tell it had something to do with pay, and the rate at which the tower was getting painted. As I found out from Ivan later, the painters are under contract for the whole job, not an hourly wage, and the painting of this tower was getting a little behind schedule. One painter in particular didn't seem to be a happy camper.
It was nice not having to hoist the guys up the tower, and then back down in the afternoon. So Ivan and I continued cutting brush. I found out that the bites I have on my ankles aren't all mosquito bites. They're ant bites, from standing on their houses at times as I was cutting brush. Suddenly they were crawling all over my feet and ankles, and biting. Tiny little things that looked like specks. Amazing that they pack such a poisonous punch.
Got Chinese take-out for supper, from a family that goes to the International Bible Church. Had pineapple beef. I'm finding that what is labeled as 'beef' around here is really some sort of mystery meat.
