WORK is a four-letter word

So a few folks seem to think I'm not working here. I won't give any names, but their initials are Mary Jo Guiles and Ray Smith. :) I hadn't been taking many pictures during the work day, since it was all the same antenna work and brush cutting.
Ivan in front of a nice, big thorn bush.

I've been thinking about Genesis 3 a lot during all this brush cutting:

17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,'
"Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.

So that is the underlying reason I'm here on Bonaire taking care of thorn bushes. :)

I should have taken 'before' shots, but the road was lined with bushes. The guards who work for the power company had complained that they couldn't see vehicles coming -- like vehicles with power plant employees, or tanker trucks of diesel that come in daily to fuel the power plant.
Looking the other direction, towards the ocean. Nice and clean.

There's enough brush to keep me and Ivan busy for months.

  1. Genesis also records God speaking out of a burning bush. This also happened at the Bonaire transmitter site when the original test broadcasts began. Sondra probably knows the story better than me.

    The short version is that when the test broadcasts began, one of the staff was outside and saw a bush light up as if burning, and heard the test broadcasts "emitting" from the burning bush. Probably what happened is that all the salt which was collected on the bush rectified the super-power signal.
